Meet the Doctors
Dr. Amar Gupta
Dr. Amar Gupta was raised in Winnipeg and graduated from St. Paul’s High School. He enrolled at the University of Winnipeg and obtained a BSc degree in Biology. He continued his education and enrolled at the University of Brighton, United Kingdom and obtained a BSc Honors in Podiatric Medicine. Upon graduation he returned back to Winnipeg and started his private practice in 2000. Eleven years into private practice, Dr. Gupta enrolled at Glasgow Caledonian University and obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Theory Podiatric Surgery.
Dr. Gupta holds a special interest in chronic musculoskeletal foot and ankle pain.
Dr. Gupta has been a lecturer locally at multiple venues (College of Physicians and Surgeons continuing medical education seminars, Medical rehabilitation-Physiatry seminars, College of Pharmacy education seminars, Pedorthtics Association, Association of foot care nurses, and to local businesses and non-profit community centers).
Dr. Gupta has been actively involved under various roles with the College of Podiatrists of Manitoba and is currently the acting Chair.
Dr. Michelle McLatchie
Dr. Taylor Bilodeau
Dr. Taylor Bilodeau comes to us from Northern Ontario where she led an active life in many sports and had an extensive background in dance from Jazz and Hip Hop to Modern and Ballet. She is a graduate of the University of Guelph with an Honours Bachelor of Arts and Science degree, (Psychology and Nutritional & Nutraceutical Science) and has a Honours Bachelor degree from the University of Huddersfield, England, in Podiatric Medicine.
An avid outdoors person, Taylor has hiked to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Machu Pichu in Peru as well as many of the mountains in the UK. She has done volunteer work in Africa, South America and in Ontario.
Taylor is also a wine enthusiast who loves to spend time in the kitchen. She has great affection for dogs and most animals. You may see her cheering on the Jets and the other Winnipeg sports teams as she settles into Winnipeg life.
Taylor is very pleased to be part of the Foot & Ankle Clinic team and looks forward to providing the best possible care to her patients.
Dr. Denesh Uthayakumar
Denesh Uthayakumar originally from Toronto, Ontario spent most of his childhood outdoors and playing sports such as basketball, football and baseball. The passion for sports, Human Anatomy and Nutrition lead to Denesh obtaining his Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Kinesiology Degree from the University of Guelph in 2015. Upon completing his degree, he spent 3 years working as a registered kinesiologist. Denesh spent time working with sports medicine, motor vehicle accident patients as well as in cardiac rehab patients.
In 2018 Denesh decided to further advance his career by enrolling in the podiatry program at the University of Brighton and graduating with first class honours in 2021. After graduating Denesh completed post graduate courses at the Michener Institute in Toronto in Local Anesthesia and Steroid Injections, Radiological interpretation (diagnostic x-rays) and Pharmacology which allows Denesh to have medication Prescription rights in Ontario.
Denesh enjoys trying all sorts of different foods and visiting different restaurants with his wife. He usually spends his spare time at the gym if he isn’t relaxing on his couch cuddling his dog. Denesh is excited to meet and provide professional foot assessment/treatment for the patients at the Foot and Ankle Clinic.
Dr. Romana Bourton
Dr Romana Bourton grew up on the south coast of England where she received a first class
honours degree in Podiatric Medicine from the University of Brighton in 2012. She has
enjoyed working in the private sector and for the British national health system (NHS),
gaining experience in all aspects of podiatry.
She spent 3 years in Italy becoming fluent in the language and forging links with podiatry
specialists at the university of Bologna where she has completed some podiatric translation.
Having always enjoyed writing she has been published in the journal ‘International
Therapist’ with the aim of helping to increase public understanding and interest in Podiatry
and foot health.
In 2019 she moved to Winnipeg and worked for 2 years at the Foot and Ankle clinic
specialising in nail surgery before moving to Thunder Bay, Ontario for 1 year at St Joseph’s
Hospital as part of the advanced practice wound care team. During this time she also
completed her qualification in injectables at the Michener institute in Toronto and is
licenced to administer local anaesthetics and steroids.
Romana is looking forward to moving back to Winnipeg with her husband and is very happy
to be re-joining the team at the Foot and Ankle clinic.
