Minor nail surgery involves removing partial or total toenails under local anesthetics to address various conditions, such as infected ingrown toenails, thickened or distorted toenails, fungal infections, and toenails curving into the flesh. This service is recommended for individuals who have not seen improvement through conservative treatments. The need for surgery is determined during the initial assessment with your podiatrist, considering the history and examination findings. Surgeries can be scheduled only after a consultation with the Podiatrist.
Cortico-steroid injections, also known as steroid injections, are anti-inflammatory medications used to address a range of foot conditions. These injections are commonly used to alleviate pain and reduce inflammation in conditions like heel pain (including plantar fasciitis), Achilles tendonitis, Morton’s neuroma, bursitis, arthritis, nerve entrapments, and gout. If traditional treatments do not yield desired results within a specific timeframe, a steroid injection may be recommended by your podiatrist after evaluating your condition. Consult your podiatrist for further assessment and possible prescription for steroid injections.
Proper footwear is crucial for maintaining healthy feet and preventing common issues like bunions, calluses, corns, and various toe deformities. Ill-fitting shoes can exacerbate these problems, making them more painful and severe. It is advisable to consult your podiatrist for an assessment and guidance on suitable footwear specific to your diagnosis. Children, adults, and the elderly can all benefit from well-fitted footwear, and appointments can be conveniently booked online through the clinic’s website.
Custom orthotics are personalized shoe inserts designed to provide better support and alignment for your feet. Apart from traditional gait analysis, 3D CAD/CAM technology is employed to create precise foot imprints for designing orthotics. The custom orthotic fitting process typically takes around four weeks from casting to fitting, ensuring optimum comfort and support for individuals.
Diabetes can have serious implications on foot health, leading to circulatory problems and nerve damage. Diabetic foot care is essential for preventing complications associated with high blood sugar, such as non-healing wounds and potential amputations. Regular foot exams, patient education, and preventive measures are integral parts of diabetic foot care to identify and address issues promptly.
